Meet the initiator, Alexander Pohl, of the Open-Source BI Framework in Chicago! He will share with you his ideas and experience by implementing best of breed Open-Source tools in an enterprise class environment. He will outline the pros and cons and compare the different models and technologies. Alexander will address the following topics:
- What is open source
- Who are the major players in open source
- A sampling of open source products in practice
Within an open source Corporate Performance Management (CPM) framework, you will walk through examples that were implemented in an SAP and Oracle Financials environment. Open source tools used throughout this session include: Online Analytics Server (Palo OLAP), user-friendly report generators, the great Excel Integration, the easy to use Cockpit for the analysis of financial data, a package manager, and last but not least, ETL tools from Pentaho and Talend*.
